I hate asking for help…

I have to find 1100 dollars for a procedure on the 15th and its 1100 for just numbing and Valium for the procedure, it’s 3300 if they put me to sleep and because my OBGYN is a bitch and said she didn’t think it was a necessary procedure… If anyone could help out it would mean a lot. Basically I have an abnormal pregnancy possibly molar or Choriocarcinoma but we won’t know til they remove the tissue and test it. But my OBGYN is a pro life bitch and says she thinks all my other doctors are wrong and that there’s nothing wrong with my uterus despite there being a giant mass in it which doctors confirmed doesn’t look like a fetus.

My gofundme is http://ift.tt/1XoxjJC

I would offer my PayPal but I was robbed a while back and my bank card was taken and I had to cancel it and get a new one and it hasn’t come in yet.

Actually Graduated

I actually graduated from physical therapy yesterday.1 I didn’t get to go by the Wellness Center to sign up, though, because there were other things that needed to be done yesterday afternoon.2 I will either do it this weekend or some time in the next week. I may have to get a ride from my mom instead of my dad to get it done.3 I need to get my license so that I am no longer so dependent on the schedules and whims of others.4 I can’t get it until my bank situation gets sorted out.5

  1. Happy dance.

  2. Because life.

  3. Asking him for rides always leads to me having panic attacks.

  4. I have my own whims, dammit!

  5. I’ve reactivated my GoFundMe because of some overdrafts I received after attempting to cancel some orders I didn’t mean to make. More about that is mentioned on the page. If you can help, I’d appreciate it.

Holiday Wishlist Meme 2015

This is a meme that I participate in every year on LiveJournal. Even if you get nothing, it’s still a fun meme because it allows us to be kids again and make Christmas lists. Let’s face it, that kind of dreaming and hope is fun. So here’s my wishlist this year. If you want to make one, leave me a link and I’ll post it here.

Make a post (public, friends-locked, filtered… whatever you’re comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related (“I’d love a Snape/Hermione icon that’s just for me”) to medium (“I wish for _____ on DVD”) to really big (“All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV”). The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it’s your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) can get in touch with you. Your home address is not required!

Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here’s the important part…

You needn’t spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn’t to put people out, it’s to provide everyone a chance to be someone else’s holiday elf – to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not – it’s your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just… wish, and it might come true. Give and you might receive. You’ll have the joy of knowing you made someone’s holiday special.

I have listed more than 10 things.

  1. Shot glasses, coffee mugs, teapots. I collect these, so I would love to have some new ones to add to my very small collection.
  2. Crafting stuff. Knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, adult coloring books.
  3. Toys for Amy Pond. She’ll be 3 years old on the 21st of December. She loves squeaky toys, Kongs, pillows, blankets…basically, anything you put in front of her. She’s also a tad destructive on most things, so the less destructible, the better.
  4. Home repairs. I have a GoFundMe donation page set up because my house has serious issues and needs to be fixed. We’ve got leaks in the bathrooms, cracks in the walls, a broken window with a piece of metal over it, and we have to walk around on the concrete slab in most rooms because the carpet had to be taken up years ago, but we didn’t have the money to replace it. Our laundry room needs to be rewired and/or we need a new dryer because any time that we try to use it, it knocks the power off. (We have to hang dry all of our clothes in the bathroom with a space heater.) We also need a new roof and siding (some of ours has rotted) and home insurance. (We can’t get any because of the problems listed.) And at some point we’d like to have central air-conditioning back in the house so that we wouldn’t have to rely on window a/c during the summer, but that’s not as necessary as the rest of the things needing to be fixed. The city I live in can sometimes donate siding and shingles if a person has a group willing to put make the repairs, but we’ve got no one willing to do the work. Any help would be really nice, even if it’s in the form of recommendations for groups that help with this sort of thing.
  5. Help with my domain hosting bill. It is processed through PayPal, but the money doesn’t go to me. It goes directly to DreamHost, the company that I get my site hosted through, and is automatically applied to my account. The minimum they’ll allow is $10.
  6. Help with other bills. I have a GoFundMe for that as well.
  7. Guitar. No, I don’t expect anyone to get this for me. I would just like to learn how to play guitar sometime.
  8. Gift Cards. Specifically: Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Lane Bryant, iTunes, Starbucks, Target, Torrid, Walmart – Amazon for books, movies, and other things. B&N for books. Lane Bryant & Torrid for clothes, accessories, etc. Having a gift card means that I’m a lot less likely to abuse my credit card with them. Target & Walmart would be used for groceries, makeup, clothes, and conditioner. (My hair dries out easily–which leads to matting and breaking–and Target sells a conditioner that keeps it moisturized.) And iTunes for new music and, in case they never get around to bumping the song limit up, converting my music library to iTunes purchases, so that I can listen to the rest of my music collection. Starbucks is so I can get the occasional drink when I’m not at home.
  9. Anything from my Amazon.com wishlist. Anything on the list would be great. I’ve tried to arrange things from high to low priority, but, as you can probably figure by it simply being on the wishlist, I actually would like to have it. And if you see something on the list that you could get at a cheaper price or used, I’m good with that.
  10. Fandom/care packages.
  11. Makeup. I’m a ginger, so I have very pale skin. Any colors that look good on people with really light skin will be fine. (I’m not afraid of bright or bold colors.) I mainly wear nail polish, lipstick and eyeshadow.
  12. Accessories. Hats, socks, scarves, headbands, purses, barettes, necklaces, bracelets. I absolutely need a wallet. Belts if they’re made for plus-size women.
  13. Stuffed animal/plushies.
  14. Well wishes. I had knee surgery on the 3rd of December, so positive thoughts/vibes/prayers would be appreciated for that. And for me to be a bit more outgoing and less afraid to speak up for myself in the next year.
  15. An alarm clock that I could attach my iPod to so that I could listen to music while sleeping. Music helps me sleep, but if I keep the iPod on me when I head to bed, I end up staring at the screen all night & forgetting to sleep.
  16. Surprise me.

Outlander, Disney (especially Sleeping Beauty & Brave), Castle, Big Bang Theory, Orphan Black, Doctor Who, Supernatural, Star Wars, Scream Queens, OUAT, Harry Potter, Twilight, Buffy/Angel, Hunger Games, Arrow/The Flash, PLL, iZombie, Jane the Virgin, Bones, Reign, Game of Thrones, Glee, How to Get Away with Murder, The Blacklist, 2 Broke Girls, Marvel/SHIELD, Gilmore Girls, Charmed, New Girl, Project Runway, Auburn University, UNC, Hello Kitty/Sanrio, Taylor Swift, Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan

24 Hours of GoFundMe

Since these tweets are all related, I thought I’d do it in one big post.

The full text of this update:

A Tumblr user asked for me to include my disability diagnoses, so I added those to the description.

I also want to thank those who’ve donated. I also want to thank those who’ve shared the link without donating. And I want to thank those of you who have offered your thoughts and prayers. I appreciate it all so much.

Follow @JanersM on Twitter.

What type of disability do you have that prevents you from working?

What type of disability do you have that prevents you from working? I’m just asking, because it doesn’t say on your go fund me page thethumperdiaries

I should probably add that to the GoFundMe page.

I have multiple mental and physical health issues, but the ones that are part of my disability case:

  • schizoaffective disorder
  • panic disorder with agoraphobia
  • arthritis
  • ehlers-danlos/hypermobility
  • undifferentiated connective tissue disease
  • vertigo
  • myoclonic & absence seizures
  • asthma
  • chronic migraines (this isn’t as bad as it was before BOTOX)
  • anemia (deficiencies: iron and vitamins b6, b12, and d)
  • fibromyalgia

I have other diagnoses in addition to these, but these are the ones that I’m on disability for.

Rage, Rage Against the Dying of the Likes

I get this feeling that people think I’m super angry or rage-y. I argue a lot on social media, but most of the time I’m laughing as it happens. It allows me to talk about issues I care about in a way that’s1 easier for me. It also gives me a chance to refresh my memory on those issues, which is also fun. I used to feel more agitated when I did it & would trigger migraines, blood pressure, and other issues. Now? I try to walk away or center myself long before that. But I probably still come across as Miss Super Bitchy Pants.

Tonight one of my dad’s friends told me I was full of anger and contempt. He said he’d wanted to contribute $50 to the GoFundMe account, but my anger changed his mind. After he blocked me on Facebook, I found out he donated $25, which meant I couldn’t really thank him. So, dude who is friends with my dad, if you see this, thank you so much. I do appreciate it a lot. And I will try to be a shinier, happier version of myself. Sometimes. When it’s appropriate. Maybe.

But right now I can say I’m definitely not angry or feeling contempt toward anyone.

Aleve-iate Your Pain (Or Maybe Not)

I saw the family doctor today about the ongoing knee pain.

The family doctor thinks it is a tendon1 or, more likely, a group of tendons in the back of my knee that are inflamed. She wanted to either put me on a round of steroids or send me to the orthopedist for a cortisone shot.

Her attending told her to do a round of NSAIDs first, despite having NSAIDs listed as drugs I cannot take.  ((He told her that if they sent me to the orthopedist now that the orthopedist would do two rounds of NSAIDs before doing a shot. And they didn’t want to do the shot too soon–8 weeks of sharp pain in my knee doesn’t exactly seem like it’s all that short of a time period.)) They felt that the 80mg of Protonix2 could keep the ulcers from forming. So she wrote it for prescription strength Naprosyn two times a day for three weeks. My extra-reflux-y,3 post-gastric-bypass stomach & the brain that controls it decided that prescription would not be getting filled.4 I definitely did not want to risk an ulcer.5 She said they might send me to the orthopedist in 3 weeks6 if the pain was still going on.

Anyway, I came home and was a bit disappointed because I knew that I couldn’t take the espresso-esque dose of Aleve and that that meant the pain would continue for the next 3 weeks. I realized that it could even get worse. And then the realization that I’d have to wait another few weeks for an appointment and that might mean an even longer wait for treatment. I started breaking down and sobbing. I couldn’t see an end in sight and I think my crying worried my mom. We decided I should skip the wait & call the orthopedist.7 I have an appointment for the 14th. Two weeks instead of three somehow leaves me feeling more optimistic.

phyllis giving financial advice Once I was back into the less-overwhelmed-by-pain mode, my dad told me about Aunt Phyllis’s response to my GoFundMe page to help with my overdraft/unexpected bill issue. I think she meant to be helpful, but her advice really was, well, unhelpful. Missing one payment of most of the bills would just lead to badness. I saw my parents do the “just one month”/deferral thing. Debt stacked up. Debt collectors harassed us regularly. The reason I own the house we live in is that their bill situation got so bad that they could have lost the house. My debt isn’t that bad.

If I skipped a payment, it might get much worse and I don’t want it to get any worse. Besides I have a “don’t take financial, moral, or legal advice from the Morris family” rule. Their solutions can range from bad to sociopathic. I really don’t want to follow in those footsteps. So I may overdraft again this month, but I’ll get caught up soon & figure out a way to pay for what I need and save a little money as I do.
Oh well. I need to start working on the grocery list since tomorrow is Wednesday.

  1. She also mentioned that I would need to avoid fluoroquinolones–Cipro, Levaquin–because of the risk of tendon rupture. I told her I couldn’t take those because of the neuropathy issue, so I wasn’t really worried about encountering that issue with them.

  2. A dose that requires maximum doses of maximum strength Gaviscon to back it up.

  3. Thanks, Dad!

  4. Even the pharmacist knew I wouldn’t be taking it. When the scrip got to her, she called my house and said she would not fill a medicine we all know I cannot take without endangering my life.

  5. Especially not after reading about everything that Jenn has gone through with her ulcers. And, no, that doesn’t mean I wanted one before. I’ve also seen the pain they’ve caused my dad. I don’t want to experience that, even if it would mean less pain in my knee.

  6. My recheck was scheduled for September 21.

  7. The family doctor said I didn’t actually need a referral because I’ve seen an orthopedist that specializes in knees on another referral recently.
