My Kingdom For a Morsel

I got my letter from the state this afternoon stating that I qualified for another year’s worth of food stamp benefits. Instead of decreasing, like I’d expected, they nearly doubled. I was a bit taken aback by the amount. It wouldn’t surprise me if I got a letter soon that basically says, “Ha ha. No. We meant for you to get this not that.”

I was glad that the letter came today because I needed it for some student loan business. Actually, I either needed it or a proof of income letter from Social Security. Since that would require yet another trip out to the SSA building, this will have to do.

Not much else has happened today. I’ve spent most of it reading, which has made my head hurt some, but not enough to make me stop. I think I just might have some masochistic leanings.

Oh, my dad and I were watching The White Queen earlier and I mentioned to my dad that Edward IV’s brother Richard was Richard III. He seemed a little shocked that that was the Richard III. I was basically sitting there telling my dad who each person was according to their place on a family tree, which is pretty easy since most of the characters descend from one particular branch of a family.
