Pets Going to Hogwarts

This evening I was looking at Willow, while I was helping my mom pick up some pills she dropped on the floor. Somehow, I started thinking about A Very Potter Musical, which I had watched (again) earlier this week, and a thought about what Hogwarts house each of the canine members of my family would go into popped into my head.

  • Molly and Willow would go into Hufflepuff because, as basset hounds, they’re good at finding things. (A nod to AVPM and Team StarKid.) They’re also very loyal and very accepting of anyone.
  • Gretchen would be in Ravenclaw because she is extremely smart and learns things fast. She also seems to have quite a cute sense of humor. (At one point in her life, she would “sing” ‘Pocketful of Sunshine’ anytime she heard the song or the title of the song. It seemed like she figured out that Willow gets more attention for saying “Wo-Wo”, she tried to say “Wo-Wo”, too.) I have a feeling that my parents might think that she could go in Slytherin, but I don’t think that would be a good fit for her. (It might work for Molly, though. I know that’s odd to say about someone I also linked with Hufflepuff.)
  • Alice would be in Gryffindor because is as brave as can be, sometimes to a fault. When we first got her, I was taking her out for a walk and she tried to display her bravery (or badassness) to a pitbull that was also outside at the time. She is also very, very loyal.
  • I think Xander would probably go in Gryffindor, too, but he would also be a viable candidate for Hufflepuff. So, who knows where he might go.

I tried to share some of these thoughts earlier, via my cell phone, but they seem to have gotten lost somewhere along the line. So, hopefully, this post will go through. (Fingers crossed.)
