30 Days of Truth: Day 11

Today is Day 11, and the topic for this entry is:

Day 11: Something people seem to compliment you the most on.

I think that the majority of compliments that I have gotten in my life have revolved around my hair.  Of course, a lot of those compliments came with strange people putting their strange hands in my hair.  I didn’t really like that part.  I think that part of why I used to hate being a redhead was the amount of attention that my hair seemed to draw in.  I didn’t want to be noticed for being different.  I wanted to blend in and even at a young age, I knew that red hair was unusual, so the attention made me uncomfortable.

Other things that I’ve been compliment on quite a bit are my eyes and nose.  My eyes are something that I understand why people like them.  They’re kind of big, but not freakishly so, and the coloring is different.  I like my eyes.  (Please note that I like my hair these days, too.)  My nose, though, I think is extremely odd looking.  It not only looks strange in general, but it is one of those features that I have that doesn’t seem to match up with anyone else in my family.  When I was little, it was cute and button-y.  Now, it just looks like an overgrown baby nose.

Positive body image will never be something I have, I guess.
