Decatur Police had to use their animal instincts to catch a runaway cow on Wednesday morning. The cow was running through the neighborhood near the intersection of Hillwood Drive SW and Hillside Road SW. Police say it got loose from a nearby sale barn. Police called in someone from the barn to help lasso the cow and blocked off nearby streets while they worked to catch it. The cow was free for about an hour, and even charged at some of the officers. Police had a tranquilizer gun ready, just in case, but didn’t have to use it. The cow was not hurt. They caught it before 10:30 a.m. (via Runaway Cow: Runaway Cow Caught In Decatur, Alabama Neighborhood – WHNT)
