Okay, so if you’ve ever seen me arguing with someone over the use of the Kool-Aid reference when referring to people who they believe have been brainwashed, indoctrinated, or whatever the hip and cool word is for “people who believe in either a cult or a different point of view from you”. It is because I’m, as has been admitted in the past, anal about certain things. Since I’m a bit passionate about learning about cults, sociopaths, and serial killers, I try to learn about those subjects. Well, the Kool-Aid reference is an overused cliche that references the terrible acts at Jonestown. Unfortunately, when people overuse this cliche, they use the wrong powder based drink. The drink is actually Flavor Aid, which is like Kool-Aid, except cheaper and 2 years younger. It may not seem like a big deal, but I find it disrespects the memory of those who died to reference it incorrectly. (It’s also disrespectful to mock people by using such a tragic circumstance.)
