I didn’t remember House having an episode about Sjogren’s. (I decided to look and see what diseases were diagnosed on the House Wiki.) Then I saw this:
Sjogren’s is fairly common, occuring in about 1 out of every 1,000 people. A hospital the size of Princeton-Plainsboro would probably see a case once every week or so.
Common misconception about the disorder is that because it occurs that often, it gets diagnosed that often…it doesn’t. Most people who have the syndrome don’t realize that they have it.
It is still classified as a rare disorder.
But it is nice that it was one House. Maybe this will lead to people being more aware of this crappy problem.
