Illegal Immigration
I noticed that at IG’s website, he had a lot of stuff up for illegal immigration. I thought I’d do a little post on my thoughts on illegal immigration. Basically, we all come from illegal immigrants in the United States. People at my school have argued with me over that since their ancestors came over on slave ships.
LSU won their game, which made my dad happy. He’s not a LSU fan, but that means that if Auburn wins the Iron Bowl (God willing), then they might get ranked higher. I know you might be thinking, well, who the Hell cares? If you lived with my father, you would understand. In the South, football isn’t just a sport, it’s a way of life. And in Alabama, the rivalry between Auburn and Alabama isn’t just any old rivalry, it’s a blood war basically.
So, is SNL on tonight or not? I know there’s supposed to be a writer’s strike, and with that going on: there’s no newly written stuff and the entire cast is basically like part of the writers’ guild, right?
Normally, I don’t believe in union stuff, but I do think the writers have a legitimate reason for going on strike. If the producers would pay them their residuals like they deserve, then this wouldn’t be happening.
If this strike causes me to miss any Heroes episodes, I will be severely ticked off.
Of course, I will still be able to get my Milo fix. A sweetheart is sending me some of the Gilmore Girls seasons as part of holiday_wishes. I love the show for other reasons. If you’ve ever seen it, my personality (offline) is like Rory’s and my mom’s is like Lorelai’s. Of course, my grandmother isn’t like Lorelai’s mom…she’s like Lorelai, too. We don’t quite know how my father fits into everything. My dad seems to get annoyed by the show.
I forgot to mention that I keep getting rave reviews for my scripts (shooting and spec) in film production class. My teacher said I had the best one in class a few weeks ago, and he shared it with one of the teachers in the department and a pro friend he has in San Francisco. Of course, then we ended up being split into groups…and it was the whole “kick ball” thing where the fat girl gets picked (almost) last. Well, my teacher kept saying, “Y’all are making a mistake. You’re missing a good person here.” He didn’t say who it was, but when I got picked, he was like, “Finally, you picked the right person.” Of course, tomorrow, I have to write a 3 minute script based on CSI and Criminal Minds, then do a shooting script (where you split the dialogue and scene up shot by shot). It’ll be fun, but I’m dreading it because it will be a lot of work.
