Today, Daddy and I went out shopping. Yay! We went to Circuit City first, where I got a Kodak Easy Share digital camera, camera memory card (which I still cannot open), a special battery, and an Epson scanner. I asked about Photoshop and they kept trying to push Photoshop Elements on me. So, my father and I went to Best Buy where we noticed a lack of Photoshop. Next door was Office Max, so we decided to check there. They didn’t have it either, but one of the workers suggested Best Buy (been there) or CompUSA. My dad and I left and he was convinced we should go to Office Depot because he HATES CompUSA. (Two years ago we got an external hard drive (with a special service plan) for me and it quit working. We took it back and there were some issues with the service plan (they lied) and my dad hates them for it. When my dad has a grudge, he keeps it for MANY years.) I told him we should try CompUSA because a.) it was closer and b.) Office Depot wasn’t going to have it anyway, so we were going to end up at CompUSA in the end. I won, we went, and we were greeted in the software section by the store’s manager. I asked if they had Photoshop and he said yes, but first he tried to see if I wanted the Elements. I told him that I wanted Photoshop, the real thing. He looked a little shocked, but he said he’d go get it from where it was locked up. About ten minutes later, he came back with it and a piece of paper telling me how much it was ($649.99). He made sure I was aware of the price and asked me again if I wanted it. I told him yes. I didn’t actually get my hands on the box until I got in the car. (The manager (who knew my dad from a previous job) walked it to the front of the store.)
I got home and started opening up my packages. I had already checked the requirements for Photoshop, and I thought I would be able to install it on my computer. I don’t have enough RAM. I have 128 and it requires 300. I think my dad is going to let me use his computer to use it until I can get more RAM. I guess that’ll be my next purchase, after I okay it with my mom.
I’ve spent about $1600 in the past twelve hours, $200 for rent, $350 for Gretchen’s vet bill, and the rest for my “toys”. My next large purchasing spree will come in about three months when they put out the Salvation Army Angel tree. I plan on adopting at least 1 or 2 Angels to get presents for. That’s such a fun thing to do.
Now, since I got a camera, I guess you’re expecting photos. So, here you go.
