Forgotten Voters 7

It would be nice if campaign ads for John Kerry aired here in Huntsville. I honestly doubt there have been any shown here. If they are being shown, then they’re not on any station I’m watching at the time that I’m watching that station. I doubt, though, that they’re being shown at all. I guess Kerry doesn’t figure that he needs to try and win in any votes in Alabama, since the electoral votes are going to go to Bush. Quite frankly, that sucks. I don’t want to see Bush ads all the time and not get to see ads for the candidate that I’m going to vote for. I’ve seen “approved by George W. Bush” ads and ads from those “crazy” swiftboat people, but no Kerry ads. 🙁

You know, I don’t like the electoral system. It really is stupid. It basically makes the votes of people voting against the majority in their state not count. If you don’t live in a swing state, and you’re in your state’s voting minority, then your vote technically doesn’t even count. I’m still voting, though. It’s my civic duty. I have only missed voting once, and that was in this year’s primary…which I didn’t have to vote in because most of the Democrats were running unopposed by other Democrats.

So, in non-voting news, I had a test today in World Literature. I was supposed to have a test in Intro to Social Welfare this morning, but my teacher decided to postpone it until next Tuesday. Anyways…I think I did well on my World Lit test. I may have missed a point on the short answer and essay sections, but I don’t think I missed many points.

It’s almost time for new episodes to start showing on my favorite shows…and on new shows that I’m looking forward to. It’s a very fun time of year for me. The only depressing thing is that Alias doesn’t start back until January. I am still annoyed at that. I will probably be annoyed about that until January comes around and I get to see my new Alias episodes. The Alias Season 3 DVD just came out today. I would be very excited (since S3 is my favorite season), but I don’t have the money to buy the DVDs. 🙁 Maybe I’ll get them for Christmas or something.

A theme was added to JetRockit that I made. It’s called 1985. It features lyrics from the song “1985” by Bowling for Soup and a picture from The Breakfast Club. The only problem with the theme is that the text is too large, but that’ll probably be fixed soon. Anyways…please check it out. 🙂 If you’re not a member, you can view the header image here. I think its the first time I’ve ever had a theme image added that I’ve made added to a board that I didn’t own. So, very cool for me. 🙂

Oh, Tara, a moderator at Celestial and a friend of mine, is a co-admin at 18thday.net Forums. She’s trying to get more people to join that board, so please go check it out. Don’t forget to check out Celestial either. 🙂

I really want the election to happen ASAP but, eh, can’t change the system. I really want to know if Bush will continue to be president. I mean, I’m not even American (from Canada here) but it still affects me a lot.
