Mockingly Enough

Am I the only person who isn’t addicted to Lord of the Rings? I mean, the 2nd movie in the trilogy was okay, and I haven’t seen the 3rd one yet, but…I don’t see the big deal. Personally, I think Peter Jackson did a better job with Heavenly Creatures, which didn’t even receive a tenth of the recognition that LOTR is receiving.

Anyways…lately, I’ve been quite annoyed by a certain member on Nova who is constantly mocking people in the War and Politics forum. He has some wacky conspiracy theory about liberals and thinks that its okay to mock liberals by saying that we claim that Bush is a member of the KKK. (I can honestly state that I have never claimed that about him and I have never seen a liberal claim this about him.) This guy also doesn’t understand why using the KKK mockingly is offensive. I’m from an area of the country where the KKK was pretty much started…I’ve learned a lot growing up about the problems that Klan and other hate groups have caused. I don’t believe it is right to mockingly use the name of a group that wishes to destroy an entire race. Sure, I’ve compared members of the Bush administration to Nazis, but I wasn’t saying that mockingly. I think that locking people of a certain race/ethnicity up for years without a lawyer is similar to what Nazis and other horrifying regimes have done to people in the past. By no means does this mean that I automatically think that Bush is Hitler or is just like Hitler. I just think that some of his policies are frightening, since they take away the rights of free citizens of this country.

So, I must take this moment to plug my fanlisting networks: Animals, Celebrity, Font, Quote, Relationships, TV/Movies. Go sign up for a fanlisting or two (or more)…Remember, these networks approve fanlistings that TFL won’t approve. This means that you can have a fanlisting for the movies of your favorite actor or for your pet or you can have one for your favorite quote…or if you like a certain font, you can run a fanlisting for that font. 🙂

So, I hope everyone is having a Happy New Year so far. 🙂
