The Confederate Battle Flag

You know it amazes me. Everytime I see something on the news or IRL about the Confederate Battleflag, I get very upset. I don’t like what it represents. Sure, to some it is part of their heritage and they’re proud. It’s part of my heritage, too, and I’m ashamed. Why did the South have to get into a battle over something so controversial? There was no great reason for slavery. I am white and that has always been my opinion.

It doesn’t just apply to the CB. It also applies to any form of racism – whites hating blacks, blacks hating whites. I was watching Queen Latifah yesterday and I was amazed at the ignorance of people. How can you hate someone of a different color skin? They’re still a person. I have friends of various races. I don’t care what they look like, it’s what their heart is like that matters to me. I like nice people. Of course, I do have friends who are racists. They think they’re not, but they happen to be very biased.

Hatred of any kind just really frustrates me.
